After flying high against Southwest Legacy  on Friday, MacArthur came back down to earth. The Brahmas came up short against  the McCollum Cowboys on Tuesday, falling  3-0. The Brahmas' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
 MacArthur was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the  third set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18,  25-22.
 Abigail Wells paced MacArthur's offense, picking up eight kills. Wells got some help from  Elizabeth Martin and her 12 assists.  Ella McCoy controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
 McCollum was led to victory by  Ariannah Soto and  Madelynn Ruiz.  Soto  had four  aces and three  digs, while  Ruiz  had 18 assists and 13  digs. Soto has been hot, having also posted 14 or more  assists the last five times she's  played.
MacArthur's  defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 23-12. As for McCollum, they pushed their record up to 27-7 with the  win, which was their 11th straight  at home.
 MacArthur wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  matchup,  a  3-1  victory against Southwest on the 10th. As for McCollum, they have also already played their next match,  a  3-1  win against Harlandale on the 10th.
