Magnolia is 8-1 against Hope since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Magnolia Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Hope Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Magnolia is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Magnolia's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past De Queen with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. Given Magnolia's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while De Queen is ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Magnolia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaleb Roach, who gained 123 total yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Antonio Brooks, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hope's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 38-0 loss at the hands of Arkansas.
Magnolia's win lifted them to 4-5 while Hope's defeat dropped them down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Magnolia against Hope in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 70-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Hope's Triston Young, who picked up 166 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Magnolia to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
