The Covenant Christian Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Christel House Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Covenant Christian will be strutting in after a win while Christel House will be coming in after a defeat.
Covenant Christian not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 13-6). They put the hurt on Beech Grove with a sharp 11-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Eli Kegeris and Nolan Guzman made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Kegeris didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Guzman pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Covenant Christian is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise. At the plate, Kegeris went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Guzman got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Kegeris a new career-high.

In other batting news, Henry Boyce was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Covenant Christian: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Barrett Beyers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Covenant Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Christel House fell victim to Irvington Preparatory Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 19-0 to Irvington Preparatory Academy. The loss leaves the Eagles still looking for their first win of the season.
Covenant Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Christel House, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4-1.
Covenant Christian took their victory against Christel House when the teams last played back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
