For the first time this season, Susquehannock will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Biglerville Canners at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Susquehannock barely beat Northeastern the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bobcats a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The Warriors have beaten the Bobcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bobcats has come to flipping the script.

Ella Wetzel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Callie Shue was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bella Higgins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.
Susquehannock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northeastern only posted an OBP of .316.
Meanwhile, Biglerville entered their tilt with Pequea Valley on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Braves 15-1. Considering the Canners have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sydney McCleaf made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. McCleaf was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Slaybaugh, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Ava Peterson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Biglerville pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Susquehannock, their record now sits at 12-5.
Susquehannock couldn't quite finish off Biglerville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
