The West Shamokin Wolves will face off against the Conemaugh Township Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, West Shamokin got the win against River Valley by a conclusive 8-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.
Braden Talmadge was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Max Long, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Conemaugh Township had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 10-3.
Conemaugh Township let DJ Bambino and Colin Dinyar run wild. Bambino got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Dinyar went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Dinyar has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Conn, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Conemaugh Township kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as United only managed six hits.
Conemaugh Township's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for West Shamokin, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. West Shamokin has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Conemaugh Township struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
West Shamokin might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Conemaugh Township in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
