North Mecklenburg came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Chambers Cougars 23-8. Considering the Vikings have won five games by more than 13 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

North Mecklenburg's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Chambers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
