It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Medina Valley Panthers can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 35-13 walloping at the hands of Victoria East on Friday. While losing is never fun, Medina Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 761st, while Victoria East is ranked 371st).
Victoria East got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Williams out in front who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown. Kason Kolle was another key contributor, rushing for 56 yards and two touchdowns.
Medina Valley now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Victoria East, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Medina Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Victoria East will square off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
