If the Hydaburg Warriors were riding high off their 47-24 takedown of the Gustavus Foxes on January 10th, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hydaburg was dealt a 76-41 defeat at the hands of Craig on Saturday. Hydaburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-16.
Brody Bazinet was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points for Craig. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bazinet has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bryant Holloway, who scored 12 points.
Hydaburg's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Craig, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hydaburg will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hoonah on Wednesday. As for Craig, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Metlakatla on February 2nd. One thing working in Metlakatla's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
