Even though the Whites Creek Cobras have not done well against the East Nashville Magnet Eagles recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Whites Creek took down the Eagles 57-42. The win was familiar territory for Whites Creek who now have three in a row.
Whites Creek found their leader in underclassman Noah Hughes, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Hughes scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darron Jenning, who scored ten points.
Whites Creek's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. As for East Nashville Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whites Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. KIPP Nashville Collegiate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Cobras are ranked 95th). As for East Nashville Magnet, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whites Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three matchups.
