The Mars Hill Bible Panthers will square off against the Madison Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Mars Hill Bible rose to the challenge on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 63-7 victory over Oakman at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mars Hill Bible.
Meanwhile, Madison Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Hokes Bluff 57-20 at home. Given Madison Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Hokes Bluff is ranked 176th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madison Academy can attribute much of their success to Kenyon Cherry, who rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and Joshua Williams, who rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Cherry is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Jake Poldiak was another key contributor, throwing for 177 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Mars Hill Bible has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Madison Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
