This season hasn't been kind to the Central Heights Vikings, who are still winless after their 15th contest. They fell 38-30 to Kansas City Christian School on Friday. While losing is never fun, Central Heights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Panthers are ranked 156th).
Central Heights' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Evans, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Melaney Chrisjohn, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Central Heights' loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Kansas City Christian School, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Central Heights will be playing at home against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Osawatomie comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Kansas City Christian School, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
