The Diboll Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 64-52 loss to Woodville. Diboll was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Diboll's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Malachai Mitchell, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds, and Jadarian Kennerew who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Kennerew's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Zach Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Diboll will take on Newton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pollok Central at 7:30 p.m. Pollok Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Woodville in Texas (Pollok Central is ranked 455th, while Woodville is ranked 979th).
