After soaring to 56 points the game before, the Goessel Bluebirds were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by Moundridge at home and fell 61-23. While losing is never fun, Goessel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Wildcats are ranked 25th).
It was another big night for Bear Moddelmog, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals for Moundridge. Henry Hecox was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Goessel's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. As for Moundridge, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goessel will challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moundridge, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ell-Saline is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
