The Southlake Carroll Dragons put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 70-28 victory over V.R. Eaton. 70 seems to be a good number for Southlake Carroll as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Southlake Carroll was led to victory by Graham Knowles and Davis Penn. Knowles threw for 307 yards while completing 82.4% of his passes, while Penn rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Riley Wormley was another major influence, as he rushed for 16 yards and ran in a TD.
Noah Lugo and Demarion Williams-franklin, V.R. Eaton certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Lugo rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while Williams-franklin rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Lugo's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards.
Southlake Carroll's win was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. As for V.R. Eaton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southlake Carroll will challenge Byron Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Byron Nelson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for V.R. Eaton, they will head out on the road to face off against Haltom at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Haltom is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
