Harker is 0-10 against Sacred Heart Prep since January of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Harker Eagles will head out to square off against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 6:00 p.m. Harker is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Harker was able to grind out a solid victory over Piedmont Hills, taking the game 60-50.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bowen Xia, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Advay Monga, who had 13 points.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sacred Heart Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 60-51 win over Sequoia on Saturday. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Ravens are ranked 611th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sacred Heart Prep's win came from a few key players Harker will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alex Osterloh, who earned 13 points and six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Straser, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.
Sacred Heart Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Harker pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Sacred Heart Prep, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Tuesday's game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Monga and Straser. Monga has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 11.5 points. For his part, Straser has averaged 14.6 points and 1.6 steals.
Harker was taken down by Sacred Heart Prep 76-26 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Harker was down 43-14.
