Thomaston is 1-9 against the Chiefs since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Thomaston Bears will look to defend their home court against the Nonnewaug Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Thomaston has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 636 points over their last nine matches.
Thomaston pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Terryville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (57), Thomaston still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Nonnewaug had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They escaped with a win against Shepaug Valley by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
