Pueblo South is 0-7 against Falcon since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pueblo South Colts will face off against the Falcon Falcons at 3:30 p.m. Pueblo South knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Falcon likes a good challenge.
If Pueblo South beats Falcon with ten runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Pueblo South's pitcher stepped up to hand Skyline a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. While the Colts didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Caeden Herrera was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Pueblo South let Damian Cordova and Israel Allen run wild. Cordova scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Allen scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. MJ Molina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Pueblo South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, Falcon gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Holy Family 5-3.
Parker Cordova looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, David Ada and Ethan Gentz did most of the damage at the plate: Ada scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Gentz scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Ada has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Millikan, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Pueblo South pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Falcon, their record now sits at 1-0.
Pueblo South might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Falcon in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Pueblo South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
