It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the McDonald County Mustangs can now relate to. They fell just short of the Jays by a score of 31-28. McDonald County's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Jefferson City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bradarious Lewis, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Lewis really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Johnson, who picked up 145 receiving yards and a touchdown.
McDonald County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Jefferson City, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
McDonald County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jefferson City will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Kearney at 1:00 p.m. on November 25th. Kearney will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
