The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. On Saturday Pentucket Regional will take on Newburyport at 1:30 PM. Pentucket Regional are the favorites in this one -- although they were the favorites in their last game, too, so the odds might count for a little less.
Pentucket Regional came up short against Rockland last Saturday, falling 7-21. This makes it the second loss in a row for Pentucket Regional.
Meanwhile, Newburyport might have drawn first blood against North Reading, but it was North Reading who got the last laugh. Newburyport suffered a grim 6-32 defeat to North Reading. This contest was a close 6-7 at the break, but unfortunately for Newburyport it sure didn't stay that way.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
