The Green Valley Gators will venture away from home to take on the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Green Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Desert Oasis' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Green Valley barely beat Rancho the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Gators were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Rams on Friday. Considering the Gators' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Joseph Lusch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddix Kaye, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Cooper Martin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Green Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Oasis). They walked away with a 19-15 victory over Pahrump Valley on Saturday.
Jamison Lewis tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Brody Griffith was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Smith, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Green Valley has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Desert Oasis, their record is now 18-8-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Green Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Desert Oasis struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Green Valley couldn't quite get it done against Desert Oasis when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 7-4. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
