If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Wilder. On Friday they will take on Rimrock at 7:00 PM. Both teams worked hard to overcome the odds in their previous battles and are not about to give an easy one away.
Wilder faced Idaho City in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wilder came out on top against Idaho City by a score of 28-20 last Friday. Among those leading the charge for Wilder was junior Pablo Martinez, who accumulated 158 passing yards and picked up 37 yards on the ground. Martinez has now scored at least one touchdown in the past six games.
Meanwhile, Rimrock took an ego-bruising loss against Idaho City two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Friday. Rimrock snuck past Notus with a 24-18 victory.
Wilder took the matchup and then some with a 84-6 win over Rimrock three weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilder since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
