League recap: Wickenburg scores huge upset over Parker

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wickenburg, who defeated 121st ranked Parker, 21-20. Jake Vandever ran for 121 yards and caught 1 pass for 13 yards in the win.

Estrella Foothills added to the longest winning streak in IV Section III this week by beating North Pointe Prep, 63-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

River Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Derek Advocate threw for 200 yards and Brandon Long had 93 yards receiving. On the ground Long chipped in 242 yards. Angelo Martel helped River Valley's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 52 yards.

The Dust Devils' dynamic duo of Advocate and Long proved to be unstoppable against Glendale, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Martel helped River Valley's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 52 yards.

Long was a force in the backfield as River Valley topped the Cardinals.

The Wranglers' Charles Johnson and Cloud Fritts have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Johnson has thrown for 703 yards this season, while Fritts has 24 catches for 284 yards. Terry Staggs' team's Long leads the league in rushing yards with 1,087.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Wickenburg's Fritts goes up against the Dust Devils' Brady Viles.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Craig Johnson's team and River Valley face off next week.

Next week's game between the Wranglers and the Dust Devils will feature a good passing match up as Johnson will test his arm against Viles' defensive ability.

A big matchup in IV Section III this week will be when Wickenburg takes on River Valley. As it stands, the Wranglers are in fourth, while the Dust Devils are in first.

The Falcons fell to Estrella Foothills 63-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
