Rustin were the 90-48 winner over the Norman Thomas Tigers when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Rustin fell just short of Norman Thomas by a score of 65-62. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rustin has scored all season.
Norman Thomas was led to victory by Jason Guzman and Jaden Hernandez. Guzman scored 13 points along with eight steals, while Hernandez scored 18 points along with three steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jaden Chazulle, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Rustin's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-3. As for Norman Thomas, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Rustin will be home for the holidays to greet Stuyvesant at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Norman Thomas, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Joseph Regional at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
