The River Valley Dust Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Chino Valley Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. River Valley knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Chino Valley likes a good challenge.
River Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Highland Prep on Monday as they made off with a 25-0 win. The Dust Devils have beaten the Honey Badgers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Honey Badgers has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Adrian Alvarado, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Mikey Gonzalez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
River Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .824. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Kingman hit Chino Valley with a seven-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this game were averaging 3.61 runs allowed.
Chino Valley dropped their record down to 11-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for River Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. River Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chino Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
River Valley beat Chino Valley 5-0 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dust Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
