Basketball Game Preview: King & Queen Central Royal Tigers vs. Essex Trojans

The King & Queen Central Royal Tigers will head out to take on the Essex Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as King & Queen Central comes in on three and Essex on four.

Last Wednesday, King & Queen Central beat King William 43-36.

It was another big night for Janiya Brown, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points along with seven assists and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last three games she's played. Kimora Hill was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Brown wasn't the only one working in the assists department: King & Queen Central was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Essex sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 33-31 win over Colonial Beach on Thursday.

Essex's win came from a few key players King & Queen Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aryeon Robinson, who posted 14 points in addition to six boards and six steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiryn Williams, who had six points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.

King & Queen Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Essex, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Things could have been worse for King & Queen Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-27 loss to Essex when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Essex's Morgan Self, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 23 boards.
