The Weir Red Riders will head out to challenge the Madonna Blue Dons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Weir made easy work of Beaver Local and carried off a 14-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red Riders in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now won seven in a row.

Lucas McAllister made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Weir is 5-1 when McAllister posts three or more RBI, but 3-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Teddy Glyptis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Braswell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Madonna had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Dragons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Dons have posted since April 16, 2024.
Reed Wilharm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on zero hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Lazear, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Madonna pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Weir, their record now sits at 8-13.
Weir came up short against Madonna in their previous meeting on April 2nd, falling 3-0. Can the Red Riders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
