It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the West Adams Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged USC-MAE out 62-59. The victory was just what West Adams needed coming off of a 88-31 loss in their prior game.
Cesar Santiago was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Juan Sanchez, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
West Adams' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for USC-MAE, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
West Adams will be playing at home against Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dr. Maya Angelou Community will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. USC-MAE's road trip will continue as they head out to face Orthopaedic at 2:30 p.m. on December 6th.
