The Fike Demons can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against C.B. Aycock by a score of 51-44. For Fike, this counts as revenge for the 56-51 defeat C.B. Aycock walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
William Monk was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Barbee, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, C.B. Aycock still got an impressive performance from Curtis Morris, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Jarvis Williams, who scored 13 points.
Fike's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for C.B. Aycock, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
Fike and Smithfield-Selma will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fike is coming into the matchup with 18 straight victories on the road, so Smithfield-Selma is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for C.B. Aycock, they will be playing at home against West Johnston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Johnston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully C.B. Aycock likes a good challenge.
