After a string of 25 wins, the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were the victim of a rough 69-47 loss at the hands of Jackson Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Madison-Ridgeland Academy has suffered yet this season.
Leading Jackson Academy to victory were Mike Williams and Mason Williams. Williams scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Williams scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Gaitor, who scored five points along with six assists and four steals.
Madison-Ridgeland Academy's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-1. As for Jackson Academy, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison-Ridgeland Academy will take on Hartfield Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
