Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Kennewick Lions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 17-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastside Catholic on Saturday. Kennewick's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Eastside Catholic can attribute much of their success to Jeremiah Burroughs, who rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
Kennewick's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Eastside Catholic, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Kennewick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eastside Catholic will face off against Yelm at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Yelm is ranked eighth, while Eastside Catholic is ranked sixth).
