The Plainfield Quakers lost a heartbreaker to the Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots when they met  back in December of 2021, and they left with a heavy heart again  on Thursday. Plainfield fell just short of the Patriots by a score of  46-44. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Plainfield in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.
  Harper Baker-lands and  Collin Schmidt certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss.  Baker-lands  scored 11 points, while  Schmidt  scored eight points along with nine  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Noah Smith, who  scored eight points.
 Terre Haute North Vigo got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Cam Fennell out in front who  scored 13 points.  Braden Walters was another key contributor,  scoring 11 points.
 Plainfield's loss  ended a four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 12-6. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, the  win was  the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
 Plainfield will be playing at home against the Braves at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Terre Haute South Vigo is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a four-game streak of away losses. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, they will head out on the road to  square off against  the Hawks at 2:30  p.m.  on Saturday. One thing working in Decatur Central's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last four matchups.
