The Destin Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 50-20 defeat at the hands of Freeport. While losing is never fun, Destin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while Freeport is ranked 261st).
Jasmine Miles was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points for Freeport. Miles has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Cosson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 rebounds.
Destin bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Freeport, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
