The New Albany Bulldogs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Northeast Lauderdale 43-14 at home. Considering New Albany has won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
New Albany got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Shettles out in front who threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Ke?lan Simpson was another key contributor, rushing for 92 yards on only ten carries.
New Albany's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points per game. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
New Albany will square off against Louisville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Louisville's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches. Northeast Lauderdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
