After both having extra time off, the Milford Mavericks and the Walled Lake Northern Knights will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Milford took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Mott. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Corsairs: they've now won eight in a row.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Milford took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-7.

Milford can attribute much of their success to Ryleigh Johnston, who had 20 assists and four aces. That's the most assists Johnston has posted over her last five matchups. Another player making a difference was Millie Ashcroft, who had four aces and three digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Milford was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Walled Lake Northern made easy work of Lakeland last Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.
The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 26-24.
Walled Lake Northern's win came from a few key players Milford will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Morgin Parsley, who had 11 kills, 11 digs, and three aces. She has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last eight times she's played. Allie Epley was another key player, getting 18 digs.
Milford's victory bumped their record up to 19-4-1. As for Walled Lake Northern, their win bumped their record up to 11-5-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Milford has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Walled Lake Northern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
