Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lincoln Lions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against NV - Old Tappan on Friday, falling 36-0. The low total for Lincoln limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Nicholas Hinds threw for 83 yards on three of 11 attempts. Omari Rotilu was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards. On the ground, Rahmir Gosa rushed for 84 yards on only eight carries.
Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for NV - Old Tappan, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now. NV - Old Tappan will square off against West Morris Central at TBD on Friday. West Morris Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 60th, while NV - Old Tappan is ranked 15th).
