The matchup between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Roncalli falling 47-33. They have not had much luck with Center Grove recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Roncalli lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noah Schmaltz. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points.
Center Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jalen Bundy led the charge by scoring 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bundy has scored all season. Will Spellman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Roncalli has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Center Grove, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Roncalli will look to defend their home court on Friday against Covenant Christian at 7:30 p.m. Covenant Christian and Roncalli are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Center Grove, they will head out on the road to square off against Avon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
