Softball Recap: Riverview Wins Going Away Against Jefferson

Riverview won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pirates blew past the Bears 17-6. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ella Vinco was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Phoebe Daniel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Riverview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only managed seven hits.

The win made it two in a row for Riverview and bumps their season record up to 17-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Riverview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 win against Churchill on the 10th. As for Jefferson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-1 defeat against Airport on the 12th.
