The Kings Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Anderson Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything went Kings' way against Loveland as Kings made off with a 38-17 win. The win was just what Kings needed coming off of a 41-21 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kings to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Nurre, who threw for 220 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Nate Lyman did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 72 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Anderson had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Turpin 43-7 at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Anderson had established a 23 point advantage.
Anderson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justice Burnam, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Brodey Berg also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Kings now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Anderson, their victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1.
Kings suffered a grim 41-21 defeat to Anderson in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Kings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
