Basketball Recap: Grainger Piles Up the Points Against Cherokee

Grainger's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cherokee Chiefs 65-24. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grainger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Dellinger, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 11 points and three steals. Dellinger continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adison Hayes, who went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points.

Grainger was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cherokee only posted five assists.

Grainger's record now sits at 17-13. As for Cherokee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Looking ahead, Grainger will challenge Volunteer at 7:30 p.m. on February 20th. As for Cherokee, they have already played their next match, a 60-31 defeat against Chuckey-Doak on the 13th.
