Baseball Recap: Columbia Victorious

While Columbia's win against Nampa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Columbia had just enough and edged out Nampa 5-4 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Columbia's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Finley Stern, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Stern has become a key player for Columbia: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Another was Eli Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Nampa, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Columbia will host Bishop Kelly at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nampa, they will venture away from home to challenge Vallivue at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vallivue will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Nampa surely won't give up without a fight.
