Etiwanda is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will venture away from home to take on the Chino Hills Huskies at 3:15 p.m. Etiwanda will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Etiwanda barely beat Centennial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Huskies 13-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kimberlee Aleman was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Brianna Gutierrez and Frankie Nevarez did most of the damage at the plate: Gutierrez scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Nevarez went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Gutierrez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Baum, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Etiwanda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.
Chino Hills not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th. Everything went their way against Los Osos as they made off with a 10-1 victory. The win was nothing new for the Huskies as they're now sitting on three straight.
Nadia Juarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits.
On the hitting side, Chino Hills got a massive performance out of Kyler Del Duca, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Leilani Allen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Etiwanda pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Chino Hills, their record is now 12-7.
Etiwanda skirted past Chino Hills 4-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
