Baseball Recap: Sheridan Has No Trouble Against Coshocton

Sheridan won the last time they faced Coshocton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Generals blew past the Redskins 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Turnes tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shawn Griffey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Connor Roshon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Sheridan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Sheridan pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Coshocton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
