The Frankton Eagles will square off against the Eastern Hancock Royals at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Frankton comes in on three and Eastern Hancock on five.
Frankton proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Eastbrook 6-5.

05/01/25 @ Elwood | 3 |
05/02/25 @ Wapahani | 1 |
04/22/25 @ Mt. Vernon | 1 |
03/27/25 @ Knightstown | 1 |
The team relied heavily on Aubree Engelking, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Mia Brooks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.
Frankton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Eastern Hancock won against Monroe Central on Thursday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over Cambridge City Lincoln. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Macy Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, McKenna Stewart looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Hannah Wittgren and Addisyn Trackwell did most of the damage at the plate: Wittgren went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Trackwell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Trackwell is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makenna Mason, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Eastern Hancock pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Frankton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Frankton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Eastern Hancock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Frankton couldn't quite get it done against Eastern Hancock in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
