The biggest upset of the week belonged to Oxford, who took down 34th ranked New Fairfield, 22-21. Eric Jensen in the win.
Newtown extended the longest winning streak in Southwest this week by beating Bethel, 37-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Justin Schaffer was the best wideout in the league this week as Weston bested Stratford. Schaffer racked up 10 receptions for 157 yards. Erik Dammen-brower helped Weston's passing attack out by catching one ball for 24 yards.
Michael McCourt provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Rebels lost to the Wolverines. He completed 12 passes for 320 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 25 yards. McCourt's favorite target this week was Collin Cioffi, who caught two passes for 122 yards.
Bryan Castelot put up the best numbers through the air as Bunnell defeated Immaculate. He finished with 12 completions for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Castelot's favorite target this week was Devante Teel, who caught four passes for 65 yards.
Jack Shaban was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 186 yards as Barlow beat the Red Devils. Teammate Alex Lockwood added to the ground attack by rushing for 107 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Brad Westmark of Brookfield is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1800. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, New Fairfield's Joe Pacheco has rushed for 1605 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Schaffer. The Weston star has 49 catches for 796 yards.
The Bobcats' Westmark is within 200 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Falcons.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Masuk takes on Weston. The Panthers are currently in second, while Daniel Hassett's team is in fourth.
Masuk led the league in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on Notre Dame Catholic.
