The Alexander Spartans will be playing at home against the Crooksville Ceramics at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Alexander focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday.
Alexander scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They really took it to Eastern for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-30 win at home. Alexander has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 29 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alexander to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylee Hudnall, who scored 15 points along with seven steals. Hudnall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Lily Ryder was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Crooksville fought the good fight in their overtime match against River View on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Black Bears. Crooksville's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Alexander has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Crooksville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
