Bucksport is a perfect 10-0 against Washington Academy since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Bucks will be playing at home against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bucksport has 13 straight victories, Washington Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Bucksport got the win against Dexter by a conclusive 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Golden Bucks, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Layken Varnum was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jetta Shook, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Bucksport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dexter only posted an OBP of .077.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Washington Academy's offense. They fell just short of Orono by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Washington Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Bucksport, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Washington Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bucksport hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .417. It's a different story for Washington Academy, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain Bucksport's hitters?
Bucksport was able to grind out a solid victory over Washington Academy when the teams last played back in June of 2024, winning 6-1. Do the Golden Bucks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
