Montrose had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Blue Ridge Raiders by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on April 4th.
Christopher McGee and Hudson Aukema were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, McGee didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Aukema struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). McGee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, McGee went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Aukema went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Adam Sorensen was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Cokely, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Montrose's record is now 7-5. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
