The Clark Cougars will head out to challenge the Churchill Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Clark's victory against LEE wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Clark skirted past LEE 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Jake Ramirez
Angel Tamayo and Jake Ramirez were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Tamayo pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Ramirez didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Clark is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 5-7 otherwise. At bat, Tamayo went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Ramirez went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Tamayo has posted over his last 12 contests.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jerry Brightwell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Aaron Kish also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Clark hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LEE struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Churchill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Madison by a score of 6-3 on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
JD Pease spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had over his last five games.
On the hitting side, Samuel Kennedy was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ethan Byrd, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Clark now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Churchill, their record is now 5-7.
Clark couldn't quite get it done against Churchill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can Clark avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
