The Ponderosa Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Castle View at home and fell 72-32. Ponderosa was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
Despite the loss, Ponderosa still got an impressive performance from Maddison Neale, who scored 16 points. That was a full 50% of Ponderosa's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Castle View, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ponderosa's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Highlands Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Highlands Ranch presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ponderosa in Colorado (Highlands Ranch is ranked 26th, while Ponderosa is ranked 155th). As for Castle View, they will be playing at home against Douglas County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
