Shelby took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Highland Tech, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Shelby came out on top in a nail-biter against Highland Tech on Friday, sneaking past 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Golden Lions as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Highland Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelby will welcome East Gaston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Highland Tech, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Ashbrook at 6:00 p.m. Highland Tech is facing Ashbrook at the right time seeing as Ashbrook is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
